The Head of the Office of the National Chairman at Kyambogo (ONC), Hajjat Hadijja Namyalo, has praised Professor Hajji Badru Kateregga for being a job creator and entrepreneur, saying he has made a significant contribution to strengthening education in Uganda.
She made the remarks during the 23rd graduation ceremony of Kampala University held in Ggaba.
Namyalo revealed that Prof. Kateregga was among the first people to support her financially, noting that her initial earnings came while working at the university.
“Professor Kateregga is one of the people who first held my hand. The first money I ever had in my pocket came from him after I worked at Kampala University as a marketeer,” she said.
She described him as both a mentor and a supporter of young people, crediting him for empowering individuals through education and employment opportunities.
Namyalo also encouraged graduates to focus on building a brighter future and remain disciplined as they transition into the job market.
“I urge you to work towards a brighter future and stay on the right path as you look for better opportunities after your graduation,” she said.
In support of the ceremony, she also purchased 100 magazines for 100 graduands, saying the gesture was aimed at promoting the university’s continued growth and development.
“This is to support the future flow and continued progress of the university,” Namyalo noted.
